At Butler Harwell, we are driven by a desire to deliver outstanding homes and smart buildings that we would want to live and work in ourselves. To this end we have assembled a team of highly experienced industry professionals with a diverse set of skills and backgrounds, as well as affiliating with energy-efficiency leaders Huf Haus to ensure that our projects deliver far more than just a technological upgrade to your home or commercial building.
At Butler Harwell, Family is Everything
With many of our team raising young families, we wanted to build a company that would allow us to support our kids. We aim to take this familial approach to our client relationships, taking a highly personal, hands-on approach so that our customers feel they are part of the Butler Harwell family, rather than simply dealing with yet another anonymous corporate contractor.
Meet the Directors
Tom Butler | Founding Director
Work: An incredibly varied career has seen Tom work for both installers and suppliers in the AV and custom installation world, as well as a brief period working as a stockbroker. Well-known within the sector from his time at Danish loudspeaker manufacturer Artcoustic and a former member of the global CEDIA board, Tom provides an authentic touch point for clients and an assured presence at the heart of the company’s activities.
Play: Working with powerful AV systems 5 days a week doesn’t seem to be enough for Tom - in his spare time he seeks out gigs where he can hear his favourite artists as loud as possible! When it’s time to slow down, Tom likes to strum on the guitar, which he’s now passing down to his young daughter. Tom could be considered a social butterfly, and he represents his community on his local committee.
Roy Ashby | Co-Director
Work: With a demonstrated history in consumer electronics and home automation, Roy brings a wealth of experience specialising in design and installation. A keen eye for strategic planning, trend-spotting and business development, Roy is a trusted hand when working with a range of projects.
Play: In his free time, Roy enjoys spending time with his daughters. Despite best attempts at relaxing, his competitive streak comes out in his hobbies: motor racing and the odd round of golf. Roy’s ‘need for speed’ doesn’t stick at device connectivity. His passion as an avid car collector has driven him to Nürburgring and le Mans.
